View the original Tell Somebody Facebook post . Pocahontas Music then published a detailed response in her own words. She has spoken publicly about surviving a kidnapping at age two from Coney Island Beach, where the person who took her attempted to drown her in a bathtub before a SWAT team recovered her and made an arrest. A childhood marked by violence and fear Pocahontas Music describes growing up in a home where physical abuse, sexual abuse, molestation, threats, confinement, burns, beatings, and instability were part of her childhood. She says her birth father physically abused both her and her mother, once striking her face with a metal belt buckle so severely that she needed hospital treatment and stitches. She has also stated that he is a registered sex offender with a criminal history involving minors. She says her mother had sexual relationships with minor boys and later married one of them. That man became her stepfather, and Pocahontas Music says he sexually abused her and her sister. When she first told her mother, she says she was called a liar, beaten, threatened, and locked in a closet for hours. She says the abuse continued after she was warned not to speak about it again. Speaking up as a child Pocahontas Music says she told people at school, leading to police and CPS involvement. She recalls being questioned in front of the adults she feared and being unable to speak freely while they watched her. After authorities left, she says she was punished and the family moved, beginning a pattern of changing homes and schools when investigations threatened to expose what was happening. She says her mother portrayed her to relatives as mentally ill, used her and her siblings' personal information for loans, phones, furniture, accounts, and bills while they were minors, changed birth years on documents, and pressured the children to pretend they were incapable during Social Security evaluations. Pocahontas Music says she was kicked out at eighteen, became homeless, and later moved in with her grandmother. Diagnoses, creativity, and motherhood Pocahontas Music was diagnosed with autism and ADHD as a child and later with complex post-traumatic stress, anxiety, depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar disorder, and borderline personality disorder. She asks people to look beyond labels and consider what prolonged childhood trauma does to a person. Her mother pushed her into auditions, music, acting, modeling, and entertainment while she was young. Behind the visible talent was a child carrying pain. Music became her outlet, writing became her voice, and creativity became a way to survive. She later built a career as a singer, songwriter, ghostwriter, author, entrepreneur, and technology founder. Becoming a mother strengthened her commitment to breaking cycles. She describes raising her children with love, creativity, faith, learning, art, music, meditation, and attention. She says she never physically harmed them and wanted them to feel safe, heard, and valued. Her public testimony Pocahontas Music says she won a court case against her mother on July 8, 2026, and that her mother is currently being investigated. She has also survived cancer, public attacks, cyberbullying, stalking, betrayal, and attempts to damage her reputation and professional life. She connects this testimony to Tell Somebody, her advocacy project encouraging adults to believe children and helping children recognize abuse and speak up. Her message is not a request for sympathy. It is a declaration that she has spoken throughout her life and will continue until her truth is louder than the lies told about her.
